Bobby Vee was an American pop singer who rose to fame in the early 1960s. He was born on April 30, 1943, in Fargo, North Dakota, as Robert Thomas Velline. Vee's career took off after he filled in for Buddy Holly at a concert in Moorhead, Minnesota, following Holly's tragic death in a plane crash in 1959. Vee went on to record a string of hit songs, including "Take Good Care of My Baby" and "Devil or Angel."
Throughout his career, Bobby Vee had 38 Top 100 chart hits, with 10 of them reaching the Top 20. He was known for his smooth vocals and catchy melodies, which helped him build a loyal fan base. Vee continued to perform and record music until 2011 when he announced his retirement due to a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. He passed away on October 24, 2016, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the world of pop music.
