Bobby Womack was an American singer-songwriter and musician born on March 4, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was known for his soulful voice and unique blend of soul, R&B, and rock music. Womack had a successful career spanning over five decades, during which he released numerous albums and singles, including hits like "Across 110th Street" and "If You Think You're Lonely Now."


In addition to his solo career, Womack was also a talented guitarist and songwriter, working with artists such as Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, and the Rolling Stones. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009 and continued to perform and record music until his passing on June 27, 2014. Bobby Womack's music legacy lives on as he is remembered as a pioneer in the soul and R&B genres.
