The band was founded by lead vocalist and namesake Jon Bon Jovi, along with guitarist Richie Sambora, keyboardist David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres, and bassist Alec John Such. Bon Jovi quickly rose to fame in the 1980s with their third album, "Slippery When Wet," which included hit singles like "Livin' on a Prayer" and "You Give Love a Bad Name."
