Bon Jovi is an American rock band formed in 1983 in Sayreville, New Jersey, by lead singer and namesake Jon Bon Jovi, guitarist Richie Sambora, keyboardist David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres, and bassist Alec John Such. The band quickly achieved commercial success with their third album, "Slippery When Wet," released in 1986, which featured hits like "Livin' on a Prayer" and "You Give Love a Bad Name."
