Bonnie Pointer, born Patricia Eva Pointer on July 11, 1950, was an American singer and songwriter. She was a member of the iconic R&B and disco group, The Pointer Sisters, which she formed with her siblings in 1969. Bonnie Pointer was known for her versatile vocal range and energetic stage presence, contributing to the group's success with hits such as "Jump (For My Love)" and "I'm So Excited". In 1978, Bonnie embarked on a solo career and released several albums including her self-titled debut album and "Heaven Must Have Sent You". She achieved commercial success with her solo career, earning Grammy nominations for her work.


Bonnie Pointer's influence in the music industry extended beyond her singing career, as she also wrote songs for other artists and collaborated with different musicians. She made significant contributions to the disco and R&B genres, leaving a lasting impact on the music landscape.
