Artist Bio:
Booker T. & The MG's were an American instrumental R&B/funk band that was formed in 1962. The band's original lineup included Booker T. Jones on organ, Steve Cropper on guitar, Lewis Steinberg on bass, and Al Jackson Jr. on drums. They were one of the first racially integrated musical groups, with white and black members playing together during a time of segregation in the United States.

Booker T. & The MG's were known for their tight, groove-based instrumental music and were the house band for Stax Records in Memphis, Tennessee. They had several instrumental hits in the 1960s, including "Green Onions" and "Time is Tight." The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992, and their innovative sound continues to influence musicians across various genres to this day.
