Booker T. & The MG's is an influential American instrumental R&B/funk band formed in 1962. The band consisted of Booker T. Jones on organ, Steve Cropper on guitar, Donald "Duck" Dunn on bass, and Al Jackson Jr. on drums. They were the house band for Stax Records and played on numerous hit records by artists such as Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett. The band is known for their tight, groovy sound and innovative use of the Hammond organ. Booker T. & The MG's were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992.
