Jones (organ, piano), Steve Cropper (guitar), Lewie Steinberg (bass), and Al Jackson Jr. (drums). They are best known for their unique sound blending soul, R&B, and funk, and their influential role in shaping the sound of Southern soul music in the 1960s.
Booker T. & The MG's had several hit songs, including "Green Onions" and "Time is Tight," and they were the house band for Stax Records, backing up artists like Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007.
