Booker T. & The MG's was an American instrumental R&B/funk band that was active from 1962 to 1971. The band was composed of Booker T. Jones on keyboards, Steve Cropper on guitar, Donald "Duck" Dunn on bass, and Al Jackson Jr. on drums. They were known for their tight, groovy sound and are considered one of the most influential bands in the history of soul music.


Booker T. & The MG's were the house band for Stax Records and played on numerous hit records by artists such as Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, and Sam & Dave. They also released their own albums, including the iconic "Green Onions" in 1962. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992, and their music continues to be celebrated for its timeless quality and lasting influence on popular music.
