Artist Bio:
Booker T. & The MG's were an American instrumental R&B/funk band that was formed in Memphis, Tennessee in 1962. The band consisted of Booker T. Jones (organ, piano), Steve Cropper (guitar), Donald "Duck" Dunn (bass), and Al Jackson Jr. (drums). They were the house band for Stax Records and played on numerous recordings for artists such as Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, and Sam & Dave, helping to shape the sound of Southern soul music.


Booker T. & The MG's are best known for their hit instrumental single "Green Onions" released in 1962, which became a classic in the R&B genre. The band was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992, recognizing their significant contributions to the development of soul music. Booker T. & The MG's continued to perform and record music until the 1970s, leaving a lasting legacy in the world of R&B and funk music.
