Homer Louis "Boots" Randolph III was an American musician best known for his work as a saxophonist. Born on June 3, 1927, in Paducah, Kentucky, Randolph gained fame for his smooth saxophone style and distinctive sound. He was particularly known for his 1963 hit instrumental song "Yakety Sax," which became his signature tune and was later used as the theme for the television show "The Benny Hill Show."
Throughout his career, Boots Randolph performed with various artists and bands, including Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, and Brenda Lee. He was also a prolific recording artist, releasing numerous albums and singles. Boots Randolph's contributions to music earned him a spot in the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum. He continued to perform and record music until his death on July 3, 2007, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most renowned saxophonists in the music industry.
