Artist Bio:
Born Jamericans was a reggae/hip-hop duo formed in Washington, D.C. in 1991. The group consisted of the two members, Norman Howell (Notch) and Edley Shine (Edley). They gained popularity in the mid-1990s with their unique blend of reggae and hip-hop music, which they called "hip-hop-reggae". Born Jamericans released their debut album, "Kids from Foreign" in 1994, which featured the hit single "Boom Shak-A-Tack". The album received critical acclaim and helped establish the duo as pioneers in the fusion of reggae and hip-hop genres.


Their second album, "Yardcore", was released in 1997 and continued to showcase their innovative sound. Born Jamericans were known for their socially conscious lyrics, catchy hooks, and energetic performances. They were praised for their ability to seamlessly blend reggae and hip-hop rhythms, creating a unique sound that appealed to a wide audience. Born Jamericans made a significant impact on the music scene during their time together, but eventually disbanded to pursue solo careers in the music industry.
