Boz Scaggs, born William Royce Scaggs on June 8, 1944, is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He first gained fame as a guitarist and occasional lead singer with the Steve Miller Band in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Scaggs then launched a successful solo career, releasing his self-titled debut album in 1969. He achieved commercial success with his 1976 album "Silk Degrees," which included hits like "Lowdown" and "Lido Shuffle."

Throughout his career, Boz Scaggs has explored various music genres, including rock, blues, and R&B, earning critical acclaim for his soulful voice and smooth guitar playing.
