Boz Scaggs, born William Royce Scaggs on June 8, 1944, is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He rose to fame in the 1970s with a string of successful solo albums that blended elements of rock, soul, and blues. Scaggs is perhaps best known for his hit songs "Lowdown" and "Lido Shuffle" from his critically acclaimed album "Silk Degrees," released in 1976. The album reached multi-platinum status and earned Scaggs a Grammy Award for Best R&B Song.


Before launching his successful solo career, Scaggs was a member of the Steve Miller Band in the late 1960s. He has continued to release music over the years, exploring a variety of styles including jazz and R&B. Boz Scaggs remains a respected figure in the music industry, known for his smooth vocals, sophisticated songwriting, and dynamic live performances.
