The band consisted of David Gates (vocals, guitar, bass), Jimmy Griffin (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Robb Royer (bass, guitar, flute, keyboards), and Mike Botts (drums). Bread achieved success in the early 1970s with hits such as "Make It with You," "Baby I'm-a Want You," and "Everything I Own."
Their music is characterized by soft melodies, smooth harmonies, and introspective lyrics. Bread's music appealed to a wide audience and they became known for their easy-listening sound. Despite their commercial success, the band faced internal conflicts and ultimately disbanded in 1973.
