Bread was an American soft rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1968. The band's original lineup consisted of David Gates (vocals, guitar, bass), Jimmy Griffin (vocals, guitar), Robb Royer (bass, guitar, flute, keyboards), and Mike Botts (drums). Bread achieved mainstream success in the early 1970s with hits such as "Make It with You," "Baby I'm-A Want You," and "Everything I Own."
Known for their mellow, easy-listening sound and heartfelt lyrics, Bread's music resonated with audiences and helped define the soft rock genre of the 1970s. Despite internal conflicts and lineup changes, the band continued to release music until they disbanded in 1977. Bread's music remains popular and continues to be played on radio stations and streaming platforms today.
