Artist Bio:
Brook Benton was an American singer and songwriter who was born on September 19, 1931, in Lugoff, South Carolina. He was known for his smooth baritone vocals and his success in both rhythm and blues and pop music. Benton began his music career in the 1950s and achieved widespread recognition in the 1960s with hits like "Rainy Night in Georgia" and "Endlessly".


Throughout his career, Benton recorded numerous albums and singles, many of which reached the top of the music charts. He was also a prolific songwriter, penning songs for himself as well as for other artists. Benton's music often featured themes of love and heartbreak, and his soulful voice resonated with audiences around the world. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 and continued to perform and record music until his death on April 9, 1988, in Queens, New York.
