He achieved success in the 1960s with songs such as "Rainy Night in Georgia" and "A Rockin' Good Way (To Mess Around and Fall in Love)" with Dinah Washington.


Throughout his career, Benton released numerous albums and singles, earning multiple Grammy nominations. He was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988, posthumously recognizing his impact on the music industry.
