Brownstone was an American female R&B group that was popular in the mid-1990s. The group was formed in Los Angeles in 1994 and comprised of three members: Nicci Gilbert, Charmayne Maxena "Maxee" Maxwell, and Monica "Mimi" Doby. Brownstone's debut album, "From the Bottom Up," was released in 1995 and featured the hit single "If You Love Me," which earned them a Billboard Music Award for Best R&B Single.
The group's second album, "Still Climbing," was released in 1997 and included the single "5 Miles to Empty." Brownstone's music was known for its soulful harmonies and powerful vocal performances. Despite their success, the group disbanded in 1998. Tragically, Charmayne Maxena Maxwell passed away in 2015, leaving behind a legacy of timeless R&B music.
