They were known for their energetic live performances and a string of successful singles in the 1970s. Their music combined elements of funk, soul, and disco, and they were pioneers in the funk music scene, blending elements of R&B and rock into their sound.

The group's self-titled debut album released in 1974 reached the top 10 on the R&B charts and was certified Gold. B.T.
