He was born on August 12, 1929, in Sherman, Texas, and passed away on March 25, 2006, in Bakersfield, California. Owens found success as a solo artist and as the leader of the band The Buckaroos. He had numerous hits on the country music charts, including songs like "Act Naturally," "Together Again," and "My Heart Skips a Beat."


The Buckaroos were a band formed by Buck Owens in the 1960s to serve as his backing band. The original lineup included musicians such as Don Rich, Doyle Holly, Tom Brumley, and Willie Cantu. The Buckaroos were known for their tight musicianship and energetic live performances. They were instrumental in shaping the Bakersfield Sound and were one of the most popular country music bands of their time. The Buckaroos had their own success with instrumental hits like "Buckaroo" and "Raz-Ma-Taz Polka."
