Artist Bio:
Buck Owens, born Alvis Edgar Owens Jr. on August 12, 1929, was an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist who became a prominent figure in the country music scene. He is best known for his honky-tonk and Bakersfield sound, a subgenre of country music that emerged in the 1950s and 1960s. Owens released numerous hit songs throughout his career, including "Act Naturally," "Together Again," and "I've Got a Tiger By the Tail."


Owens found success as both a solo artist and as part of the Buckaroos band. He also co-hosted the popular television show "Hee Haw" from 1969 to 1986, which further solidified his status as a country music icon. Buck Owens was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1996 and continued to perform and record music until his passing on March 25, 2006.
