Artist Bio:
Buck Owens, born Alvis Edgar Owens Jr. on August 12, 1929, was an American singer and guitarist who became a leading figure in the country music genre. He is best known for his influential work in the 1960s and 1970s, particularly for his pioneering contributions to the development of the Bakersfield sound, a style of country music characterized by a raw and stripped-down sound. Owens scored numerous hits on the country music charts, including songs like "Act Naturally," "Together Again," and "I've Got a Tiger By the Tail."

In addition to his successful music career, Buck Owens was also a television personality, co-hosting the long-running country music variety show "Hee Haw" from 1969 to 1986. Owens was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1996 and continued to perform and record music until his death on March 25, 2006. His legacy as a country music icon and innovator continues to influence artists in the genre to this day.
