Knox was one of the pioneers of the rockabilly genre, blending elements of rock and roll with country music. He formed the band The Rhythm Orchids with his friend Jimmy Bowen, and together they released several other successful singles in the late 1950s. Knox continued to record music and perform live throughout his career, although he never matched the success of "Party Doll." He passed away on February 14, 1999, leaving behind a legacy as a key figure in the early days of rock and roll.
