Buddy Miles was an American musician best known for his work as a drummer, vocalist, and songwriter. He was born George Allen Miles Jr. on September 5, 1947, in Omaha, Nebraska, and he passed away on February 26, 2008, in Austin, Texas. Miles rose to fame in the 1960s and 1970s as a member of the band The Electric Flag and as the drummer for Jimi Hendrix's Band of Gypsys.


Miles was known for his powerful and soulful voice, as well as his dynamic drumming style. He released several solo albums throughout his career, including the critically acclaimed "Them Changes" in 1970. Miles also collaborated with other notable musicians such as Carlos Santana and Stevie Ray Vaughan. His contributions to the world of music, particularly in the genres of rock, funk, and soul, have solidified his legacy as a talented and influential artist.
