Buddy Starcher (1910-2001) was an American country music singer, songwriter, and radio personality. He was born in Ripley, West Virginia, and began his music career in the late 1930s. Starcher gained popularity in the 1940s and 1950s with his hit songs such as "I'll Still Write Your Name in the Sand" and "History Repeats Itself."
Starcher was known for his traditional country sound and heartfelt lyrics. In addition to his music career, he also had a successful radio career hosting various country music programs in West Virginia. Buddy Starcher was inducted into the West Virginia Country Music Hall of Fame in 1999, recognizing his contributions to the country music industry.
