Burton Cummings is a Canadian musician and songwriter best known as the former lead singer of the rock band The Guess Who. He was born on December 31, 1947, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Cummings joined The Guess Who in 1965 and became the band's primary songwriter, contributing to hits such as "American Woman" and "These Eyes."


After leaving The Guess Who in 1975, Burton Cummings pursued a successful solo career, releasing several albums and singles. He is known for his distinctive vocals and versatile musical style, which incorporates elements of rock, pop, and blues. Cummings has received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career, including induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2016. He continues to perform live and remains a respected figure in the Canadian music industry.
