His biggest hit was "Fannie Mae," which reached number one on the R&B charts in 1959. Brown was known for his lively stage presence and his ability to combine blues, R&B, and rock and roll in his music.
Buster Brown recorded for various record labels throughout his career, including Fire Records and Checker Records. He continued to perform and record music until the late 1960s. Brown's influence on the blues and R&B genres can still be heard in the music of artists who came after him.
