Artist Bio:
B.W. Stevenson was an American country pop singer and songwriter born on October 5, 1949, in Dallas, Texas. He rose to fame in the 1970s with his hit song "My Maria," which reached number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1973. Stevenson's music was known for its laid-back, folk-influenced sound, which resonated with audiences during the era.


In addition to "My Maria," Stevenson released several other successful songs, including "Shambala" and "On My Own." He released a total of ten albums during his career, with his self-titled album in 1972 being among the most well-received. Tragically, Stevenson passed away on April 28, 1988, at the age of 38, due to a heart attack. Despite his premature death, B.W. Stevenson's music continues to be remembered and appreciated by fans of country and folk music.
