B.W. Stevenson was an American singer-songwriter born in Dallas, Texas on October 5, 1949. He gained popularity in the early 1970s with his folk and country-influenced music. Stevenson's most well-known song is "My Maria," which was released in 1973 and became a top ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Throughout his career, Stevenson released several albums, including "Lost Feeling" in 1977 and "Calabasas" in 1978. He was known for his smooth vocals and heartfelt lyrics, which resonated with many listeners. Tragically, Stevenson's life was cut short when he passed away from a heart attack on April 28, 1988, at the age of 38. Despite his untimely death, B.W. Stevenson left behind a musical legacy that continues to be appreciated by fans of country and folk music.
