Artist Bio:
Cab Calloway was a prominent American jazz singer and bandleader known for his charismatic stage presence and energetic performances. Born on December 25, 1907, in Rochester, New York, Calloway rose to fame during the Harlem Renaissance in the 1930s and 1940s. He was known for his distinctive vocal style, scat singing, and flamboyant fashion sense, which included his trademark white suits and hi-de-ho catchphrase.

Calloway's band, the Cab Calloway Orchestra, was one of the most popular and innovative jazz ensembles of the era, known for hits like "Minnie the Moocher" and "Hi-De-Ho Man." Calloway also appeared in several films and stage productions, including the 1980 musical film "The Blues Brothers." He continued to perform and entertain audiences well into his later years, cementing his legacy as a pioneering figure in jazz music. Calloway passed away on November 18, 1994, but his influence on jazz music and popular culture continues to be felt to this day.
