He was born on September 15, 1928, in Tampa, Florida, and passed away on August 8, 1975, in Gary, Indiana. Adderley is known for his soulful and bluesy style of playing the saxophone, which made him one of the most popular and influential figures in jazz music during the 1950s and 1960s. He was particularly known for his work with his brother Nat Adderley, who played the cornet, and his collaborations with iconic musicians such as Miles Davis and John Coltrane.
