Carl Dobkins, Jr. was an American singer and songwriter born on January 13, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is best known for his hit song "My Heart is an Open Book," which reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1959. Dobkins began his music career at a young age, performing in local talent shows and on radio programs.
In addition to "My Heart is an Open Book," Dobkins released several other singles throughout the 1960s, including "Lucky Devil" and "If You Don't Want My Lovin'."
