Carl Mann was an American rockabilly singer and pianist, born on August 22, 1942, in Huntingdon, Tennessee. He gained popularity in the late 1950s with his energetic performances and unique voice that blended rock and roll with country influences. Mann signed with Sun Records in 1958 and released several singles, including his most well-known song, "Mona Lisa," which reached the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1959.
Despite not achieving the same level of success as some of his labelmates like Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash, Mann continued to perform and record music throughout the 1960s and 1970s. He made a brief comeback in the 1980s with the release of a new album and continued to perform live shows until his retirement. Carl Mann is remembered as a talented artist who made significant contributions to the rockabilly genre during its heyday.
