She was the first female artist to record for the legendary Stax Records.
Carla Thomas is known for her smooth, soulful voice that captivated audiences and helped define the sound of Southern soul music. Throughout her career, she released several successful albums and singles, collaborating with artists like Otis Redding. Thomas was inducted into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame in 2012, recognizing her significant contributions to the music industry.
