Artist Bio:
Carla Thomas is an American singer and songwriter known for her contributions to the soul and R&B music genres. She was born on December 21, 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee. Thomas is often referred to as the "Queen of Memphis Soul" due to her successful career in the 1960s.


In 1960, Carla Thomas signed with Stax Records and released her debut album, "Gee Whiz (Look at His Eyes)," which featured the hit title track. She went on to have several chart-topping singles, including "B-A-B-Y" and "I Like What You're Doing (To Me)." Thomas also collaborated with other prominent artists like Otis Redding, with whom she recorded the duet "Tramp." Throughout her career, Carla Thomas received critical acclaim for her soulful voice and was inducted into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame in 2012.
