Carly Simon is an American singer-songwriter who rose to fame in the 1970s. She was born on June 25, 1945, in New York City. Simon is known for her distinctive voice, confessional lyrics, and introspective songwriting. She released her self-titled debut album in 1971, which included the hit single "That's the Way I've Always Heard It Should Be."


Simon achieved widespread success with her 1972 album "No Secrets," which featured the Grammy-winning song "You're So Vain." Throughout her career, she has received numerous accolades, including two Grammy Awards and an Academy Award for Best Original Song. Simon has released over 25 studio albums and continues to perform and record music. In addition to her music career, she has also written children's books and a memoir titled "Boys in the Trees," in which she reflects on her life and career.
