Carly Simon is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and children's author born on June 25, 1945, in New York City. She rose to fame in the 1970s with her hit song "You're So Vain," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Simon has won two Grammy Awards and an Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Let the River Run" from the film "Working Girl" in 1989. She has released over 25 studio albums throughout her career, with several of her songs becoming iconic hits, including "Anticipation" and "Nobody Does It Better" from the James Bond film "The Spy Who Loved Me."


Aside from her successful music career, Carly Simon has also ventured into writing children's books, such as "Amy the Dancing Bear" and "The Boy of the Bells." She has been recognized for her contributions to music with inductions into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2004.
