Carole King is an American singer-songwriter who was born on February 9, 1942, in Manhattan, New York City. She began her career in the 1960s as part of the songwriting duo Goffin and King, alongside her then-husband Gerry Goffin. The duo wrote numerous hits for popular artists, including "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" for The Shirelles and "The Loco-Motion" for Little Eva.
In 1971, Carole King released her landmark solo album "Tapestry," which became one of the best-selling albums of all time. The album featured classic songs such as "It's Too Late" and "You've Got a Friend." King has won four Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She continues to be celebrated as a pioneering and influential figure in the music industry.
