Carole King is an American singer, songwriter, and musician who was born on February 9, 1942, in Manhattan, New York City. She began her music career in the 1960s as part of the songwriting duo Goffin and King with her then-husband Gerry Goffin. Together, they wrote numerous hit songs for popular artists, including "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" for The Shirelles and "The Loco-Motion" for Little Eva.
In 1971, Carole King released her critically acclaimed album "Tapestry," which became one of the best-selling albums of all time. The album featured hit songs such as "It's Too Late" and "You've Got a Friend." Throughout her career, King has won multiple Grammy Awards and is known for her soulful voice and introspective songwriting style. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1987.
