She began her music career in the 1960s, writing hits for other artists such as "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" for The Shirelles and "Take Good Care of My Baby" for Bobby Vee. In 1971, King released her critically acclaimed album "Tapestry," which became a massive commercial success and is considered one of the greatest albums of all time.
"Tapestry" won four Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, and features classic songs like "It's Too Late" and "You've Got a Friend." King continued to have a successful music career, releasing numerous albums and singles throughout the years. She was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1987 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
