Carole King is an American singer-songwriter who was born on February 9, 1942, in Manhattan, New York City. She began her music career in the 1960s writing songs with her then-husband Gerry Goffin, including hits like "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" and "The Loco-Motion." King released her debut solo album, "Writer," in 1970, and gained widespread recognition with her landmark album "Tapestry" in 1971, which included hits such as "It's Too Late" and "You've Got a Friend."


"Tapestry" won four Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, and is considered one of the greatest albums of all time. King's successful career has spanned over five decades, during which she has released numerous albums and singles, as well as performed live concerts. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1987. Carole King remains an influential figure in the music industry, known for her distinctive voice and timeless songwriting.
