Artist Bio:
Cat Mother & the All Night News Boys was an American rock band formed in New York City in the late 1960s. The band consisted of members Bob Smith, Roy Michaels, Larry Packer, and Michael Equine. They are best known for their 1969 album "The Street Giveth... and the Street Taketh Away," which featured their most famous song "Good Old Rock 'n' Roll." The band's music was a blend of rock, blues, and psychedelic influences, and they were associated with the counterculture movement of the era.
Despite critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base, Cat Mother & the All Night News Boys never achieved mainstream commercial success. The band disbanded in the early 1970s, but their music has since gained a cult following among fans of classic rock. Their unique sound and energetic live performances have cemented their place in rock music history as a lesser-known but influential band of the late 1960s.
