Cat Stevens, born Steven Demetre Georgiou on July 21, 1948, is a British singer-songwriter known for his folk rock and pop music. He achieved international success in the 1970s with hits like "Wild World," "Father and Son," and "Morning Has Broken." Stevens' introspective lyrics and soulful voice resonated with audiences around the world, earning him a dedicated fan base.


In 1977, Cat Stevens converted to Islam, changed his name to Yusuf Islam, and withdrew from the music industry to focus on his faith and humanitarian work. He returned to music in the 2000s, releasing new albums and performing live concerts. Stevens was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014 for his contributions to music.
