Cat Stevens is a British singer-songwriter born on July 21, 1948, in London, England. He rose to fame in the 1970s with his introspective and heartfelt folk-rock music. Some of his most popular songs include "Wild World," "Father and Son," and "Peace Train." His music often dealt with themes of spirituality, love, and social issues.
In 1977, Stevens converted to Islam and changed his name to Yusuf Islam. He took a break from his music career but made a comeback in the late 2000s. He continues to perform and record music under his name Yusuf/Cat Stevens, blending elements of folk, rock, and world music. Stevens was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014 in recognition of his lasting impact on music.
