Cat Stevens, born Steven Demetri Georgiou on July 21, 1948, is a British singer-songwriter known for his folk-rock music. He rose to fame in the 1970s with hits such as "Wild World," "Father and Son," and "Morning Has Broken." Stevens' introspective lyrics and soulful voice have made him a beloved figure in the music industry.
In 1977, Stevens converted to Islam and changed his name to Yusuf Islam. He left his music career behind for several years before returning to the industry in the late 2000s. Since his comeback, he has released several albums and continued to perform live. Stevens is not only known for his music but also for his philanthropic work, including founding the Small Kindness charity organization.
