Artist Bio:
Cat Stevens, born Steven Demetre Georgiou on July 21, 1948, is a British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He rose to fame in the late 1960s and 1970s with hits such as "Wild World," "Father and Son," and "Morning Has Broken." His music is characterized by his introspective and heartfelt lyrics, as well as his unique blend of folk, rock, and pop influences. Stevens converted to Islam in 1977 and changed his name to Yusuf Islam. He took a break from his music career in the late 1970s but made a comeback in the 2000s, releasing new albums and going on tours.


Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014. Throughout his career, he has sold over 30 million records worldwide and has been recognized for his contributions to music and his philanthropic work. Stevens is also known for his humanitarian efforts, including founding the Small Kindness charity organization, which provides humanitarian relief to those in need around the world.
