Chairman of the Board is an American soul music group that was formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1969. The group was originally founded by songwriters and producers Holland-Dozier-Holland after they left Motown Records. The original members were General Norman Johnson, Eddie Custis, and Danny Woods.
Their biggest hit came in 1970 with the song "Give Me Just a Little More Time," which reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. They followed up with other successful singles such as "Pay to the Piper" and "Finders Keepers." Chairman of the Board continued to release music throughout the 1970s and 1980s, and their music has been sampled and covered by various artists over the years. The group has undergone several lineup changes over the decades but has continued to perform and record music, staying true to their soulful sound.
