Chaka Khan, born Yvette Marie Stevens on March 23, 1953, is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. She is best known for her powerful and soulful voice, as well as her versatility in various music genres including R&B, funk, soul, jazz, and disco. Khan rose to fame in the 1970s as the lead vocalist of the funk band Rufus, before launching a successful solo career in the 1980s.


Throughout her career, Chaka Khan has won numerous awards, including ten Grammy Awards. She is also a recipient of the BET Lifetime Achievement Award and has been inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Khan's hits include "I'm Every Woman," "Ain't Nobody," and "I Feel for You," which have solidified her status as an iconic figure in the music industry.
