Artist Bio:
Charley Pride was an American country music singer and guitarist who was born on March 18, 1934, in Sledge, Mississippi, and passed away on December 12, 2020. He was known for breaking barriers as one of the first African-American musicians to achieve mainstream success in the country music genre. Pride signed with RCA Records in the late 1960s and went on to release numerous hit songs, including "Kiss an Angel Good Mornin'" and "Is Anybody Goin' to San Antone."

Throughout his career, Charley Pride received numerous accolades and awards, including three Grammy Awards and induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2000. He was also a member of the Grand Ole Opry, a prestigious country music institution. Despite facing racial discrimination in the music industry, Pride's talent and perseverance helped him become one of the best-selling country artists of all time, with over 50 Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
